Dr. Caridi was born and raised in modest circumstances in the cosmopolitan and diverse city of Brooklyn. He walked to public schools in his neighborhood and played in the streets as if they were his backyard. His dad passed away when he was only 13 years old. He took the B train to an experimental High School, graduating in less than 3 years. University training took place at Stony Brook University on Long Island and eventually The University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with honors and received his BA in Biology. From there he moved on to The University of Texas Medical School at Houston and his internship, residency and fellowship at the Mount Sinai Hospital System in Manhattan. As you can see, Dr. Caridi spent most of his time in school. After completing his medical training he took up an opportunity to join a large group practice in the Chicago suburbs. He spent 8 years servicing many hospitals and learned quite a bit about trauma, hand, reconstructive and plastic surgery
