What we collect
From visitors: when you browse Whelth we collect standard technical data (pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address at the city level, browser type). We do not store your raw IP address for analytics — it is one-way hashed. Your list of favorited providers is stored in your own browser; if you create a free account it also syncs to our servers so it follows you across devices. We do not use advertising trackers.
From patients who submit content: if you submit a review or question, we collect the content you provide and the display name you choose. Don't include information you consider private in review or question text.
From patients who contact providers or create an account: when you send a consultation, pricing, or question request, we collect the details you provide (name, email, phone, message) along with the provider and treatment you asked about. If you create an account, we also store your sign-in email, any contact info you save for prefilling requests, and your saved providers and private notes.
From providers: when you claim a profile we collect your email address, your role, and the profile details you choose to publish. Your sign-in email is never published. Provider profiles also contain information from public records (see our Editorial & Data Policy).
How we use it
To operate and improve the site, to forward your inquiries to the practices you choose, to show providers aggregate and city-level statistics about visits to their own profile, to verify provider identity, to send sign-in codes and service emails, and to prevent abuse. If you've given us your contact details, we may also email you about providers, treatments, and Whelth features relevant to what you've shown interest in — every such email includes an unsubscribe link, and opting out never affects your account. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the practice you asked us to contact and the service vendors that run our infrastructure (hosting, database, email delivery), who process it only on our instructions.
What providers see about you
Providers see aggregate statistics about their own profile — view counts and city-level viewer locations. They never see your identity, exact location, or browsing history.
Retention & your choices
Analytics events are retained to compute statistics and may be aggregated or deleted over time. Providers may request account deletion or profile corrections at [email protected]. Patients may request removal of content they submitted, deletion of their account and saved data, or an end to marketing emails at [email protected]. California residents may exercise rights under the CCPA (access, deletion, non-discrimination) via the same addresses.
