Due to his excellent training, years of experience, and dedication to his specialty, Dr. Thomassen is considered one of the best plastic surgeons in Fort Lauderdale and South Florida. He completed an Integrated Plastic Surgery and General Surgery Residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC. Before this Dr. Thomassen returned home to obtain his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Puerto Rico, graduating Magna Cum Laude. During this time he obtained a scholarship to study neurosciences at the National Institutes of Health for 1 year. As an undergraduate, he obtained a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering Degree from Georgia Tech.
