About JoAnne Lopes
Dr. JoAnne Lopes is a board-certified plastic surgeon who was the first female plastic surgeon in Virginia Beach to perform BOTOX and contributed to clinical studies that led to its FDA approval. She began her professional path as a registered nurse in oncology, ICU, and public health, earned her MD in 1989, and completed a general surgery residency followed by fellowships in plastic and cosmetic surgery. She has more than 25 years of experience and has held academic appointments including assistant professor at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She is known for facial rejuvenation, breast enhancement, and body contouring.
