About Emmanuel De La Cruz
Dr. Emmanuel De La Cruz is a double board-certified plastic surgeon of Filipino American heritage practicing in Houston, Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology summa cum laude from Texas Tech University and his medical degree from the University of Texas in Houston, where he received the Frank C. Webber Prize for Medical Research. During his third year as a general surgery resident at Loma Linda University he developed the Celtic cross technique for immediate umbilical reconstruction, published in the Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery. He completed a Hand and Microsurgery fellowship at Oregon Health & Sciences University and plastic surgery training at Georgia Health & Sciences University, where he served as Chief Surgery Resident in Plastic Surgery. He volunteers annually in the Philippines performing cleft lip/palate and breast reconstruction surgeries.
