About Allen Hughes

Allen Hughes, M.D. is a founding member of The Plastic Surgery Group of Memphis and has been in practice since 1965. He earned a bachelor's degree from Southwestern at Memphis, now Rhodes College, in 1961 and his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in 1964, followed by a four-year general surgery residency and a two-year plastic surgery residency in Kansas City, Missouri from 1970 to 1972. He joined Dr. Robert Reeder's practice in 1972 and served 24 years as an assistant professor of plastic surgery at the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences. He was president of the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons from 1990 to 1991 and is a former president of the Plastic Surgery Group of Memphis.
