About Steven Montante

Dr. Steven J. Montante is a board certified plastic surgeon with over twenty years of experience performing cosmetic and reconstructive procedures in Richmond, Virginia. He completed his surgical residency at the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2003, then practiced in Lynchburg, VA before joining the VCU Medical Center faculty, where he focused on resident education, patient safety and medical informatics. He later led surgical services at Southern Ohio Medical Center, establishing a breast reconstruction program as the region sole plastic surgeon. He returned to Richmond in 2014 and in 2017 opened Montante Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics with Shelly Montante. He operates at Henrico Doctors Hospital, Chippenham Hospital and Johnston Willis Hospital and has published peer-reviewed work on wound healing.
