About Shirley Liu

Shirley Liu, MD, MHS is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Aesthetx, practicing at its Menlo Park and Los Gatos offices in California. She specializes in body contouring, breast reconstruction and reconstructive surgery following skin cancer treatment. A Bay Area native, she earned her BS summa cum laude from UCLA and her MD from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth in 2015, then completed a general surgery residency at Yale-New Haven Medical Center, a two-year NIH-funded vascular biology research fellowship at Yale that earned her an MHS, and a plastic surgery fellowship at UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh, finishing in 2025. She has published and presented work in vascular biology and physiology, vascular trauma and stem cells.
