About Dr. Michelle Roughton

Dr. Michelle Roughton is a board-certified plastic surgeon (American Board of Plastic Surgery) with an active North Carolina license, practicing at Amelia Aesthetics. She earned her MD and BS in Biology (Honors, Highest Distinction) from UNC Chapel Hill, and completed general surgery residency and plastic and reconstructive surgery training at the University of Chicago. She previously served on the faculty at UNC Chapel Hill, teaching and mentoring residents, and has held national ASPS leadership roles including Chair of the Leadership Development Committee and Chair of the Young Plastic Surgeons Committee. She is a volunteer surgeon with Medical Aid for Children in Latin America (MACLA), focused on breast, body, and reconstructive procedures.
