Michele Shermak, MD

About Michele Shermak

A native of Baltimore, Dr. Michele Shermak graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from Franklin and Marshall College and earned her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where she was the first to finish a combined residency program in general and plastic surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. She pursued further specialized training in aesthetic, breast and body contouring surgery in Nashville with Dr. G. Patrick Maxwell and Dr. Jack Fisher. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, an active member of ASPS and ASAPS, and serves on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. She is an Associate Professor in Plastic Surgery at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and after 22 years at Johns Hopkins, where she served as chief of plastic surgery at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, she transitioned into private practice. She authored a surgical atlas on breast and body contouring surgery published by McGraw Hill in 2010 and served as editor-in-chief of Plastic Surgery News.
