About Maakan Taghizadeh

Maakan Taghizadeh, MD, is a plastic surgeon and the founder of U Plastic Surgery + Aesthetics in Owings Mills, Maryland. He earned his MD from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, trained in general surgery at Ohio State University Medical Center, where he was named Intern of the Year, and completed his plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Ohio State. He then completed a fellowship in breast, microsurgical, and aesthetic surgery at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore. He is an attending at Saint Agnes Hospital, where he started the microsurgical program performing DIEP and SGAP flap reconstruction, and is on staff at Mercy Medical Center. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgeons, and has been named a Baltimore Magazine Top Doctor from 2018 to 2023.
