About Karen Proffer
A native of Amarillo, Karen Proffer, MSN, FNP-C, specializes in plastic surgery, surgical dermatology, lasers, injectables, and other in-office cosmetic procedures. She received her nursing license from Amarillo College School of Nursing in 2000 and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, then obtained her Master of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner certification from West Texas A&M University. She completed a trauma internship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and worked there as a trauma nurse for two years before returning to Amarillo to begin her career in plastic surgery, later becoming a Registered Nurse First Assistant. She has twenty years of experience in the field of plastic surgery.
