About Eric S. Schaffer
Dr. Eric S. Schaffer was accepted into medical school at the age of 18 and has been in practice for over 30 years in San Antonio, Texas. He trained in general surgery at Harvard Medical School and at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, then learned plastic surgery at Yale University, where his interest was fostered by a Nobel Prize-winning mentor. He also studied in New York with leading cosmetic surgeons. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery. He has been elected Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Chief of Staff at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital, and has been recognized as a Texas Super Doc and a top doctor by Texas Monthly, Scene in San Antonio, and San Antonio Magazine.
