About Barry Eppley

Barry L. Eppley, MD, DMD is a plastic surgeon in Carmel, Indiana, board certified in both Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and licensed as both a physician and a dentist. He earned a Doctor of Medicine degree at Washington University in St. Louis and a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Pennsylvania, trained in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Barnes Hospital and St. John's Mercy Medical Center, and completed further training in Craniofacial and Cleft Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine. He spent the first part of his career as a tenured Professor of Plastic Surgery at Indiana University and a principal plastic surgeon in the Craniofacial and Cleft Program at Riley Hospital for Children, and has focused on his own cosmetic practice since 2007. He developed the field of aesthetic skull reshaping surgery and is recognized for the design and implantation of custom facial implants, and has introduced facial masculinization and feminization techniques as well as rib removal, clavicle reduction and clavicle lengthening procedures. He holds ten United States and international patents on biomedical technologies and has authored more than 250 journal articles, 35 book chapters and five books.
