He graduated summa cum laude from UC San Diego, earned his medical degree from UC Irvine School of Medicine, completed residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, and completed a fellowship in advanced facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at UC Irvine. He is board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He developed the Vertical Restore and Vertical Prevent techniques and has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed articles as well as textbook chapters on facial rejuvenation.
