Restore Medical Center is a Bay Harbor Islands, Florida practice devoted to gender affirmation surgery, hormone therapy, and facial aesthetics, and describes itself as the only practice in the Miami area dedicated solely to gender affirmation surgery. It was founded by John L. Whitehead, DO, a board-certified general and critical care surgeon who trained at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a critical care fellowship at Northwestern University, and Alain Ramirez, MD, a Yale-trained board-certified anesthesiologist who performs the practice's facial feminization and masculinization treatments. Procedures include transfeminine and transmasculine top and bottom surgery, breast augmentation, hormone therapy, and non-surgical facial rejuvenation with neurotoxins, dermal fillers, PRP, microneedling, and laser treatments. The practice operates its own AAAASF-accredited ambulatory surgery center on site and reports that most of its patients travel from outside the Miami area.
