Dr. J. Eric Herrington was born and raised in Meridian, Mississippi. A graduate of West Lauderdale High School, he has a deep connection to the community he serves. His journey to becoming a leading Meridian periodontist began at Millsaps College, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He earned his Doctoral Degree in Dental Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry, graduating with the highest honors and a new record for academic GPA. It was during this time that he developed a passion for periodontics, participating in research on periodontitis treatment and its connection to cardiovascular health. Following dental school, Dr. Herrington completed a rigorous post-doctoral residency in Periodontology at UAB. His specialty training provided him with extensive education in managing all stages of gum disease , performing cosmetic procedures for issues like receding gums , and mastering dental implant placement .
