About Roger Newsom

Dr. Roger Newsom is a Board Certified ophthalmologist and Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology at Tidewater Eye Centers, specializing in oculoplastic surgery and cosmetic eyelid surgery as well as micro-incisional cataract surgery. He earned his BS from East Carolina University and his MD from Eastern Virginia Medical School, completed his ophthalmology residency at the Wake Forest University Eye Center, and completed an oculoplastic fellowship at the University of Toronto in 1996. A native of Portsmouth, VA, he has practiced in the Virginia Beach area for over 25 years and has performed more than 15,000 ocular surgeries.
