He earned a bachelor of science from Florida State University and his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, completed his ophthalmology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, and completed a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Louisville. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and holds subspecialty certification in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery.
