About Dr. Kathryn Heidt

Dr. Kathryn Heidt is the sole practitioner at Foundations Functional Medicine in Charlotte, North Carolina. While earning her Master's in Nutrition her focus on biochemistry led her to study natural compounds isolated for pharmaceutical production, and her final research centered on Alzheimer's disease and the impact of fat-soluble vitamins, part of it conducted while living in Italy. With that background in nutrition and metabolism she pursued a Doctorate of Chiropractic, and during her doctorate studies enrolled in specialty training in functional medicine to become a certified functional medicine practitioner. Her additional training covers immunology, endocrinology and hormones, fertility and pregnancy, advanced blood chemistry analysis, applied kinesiology and advanced nutritional applications. She entered private practice after working in a high-volume functional medicine environment, and does not prescribe medications.
