About James R. Shire
Dr. James R. Shire is the founder of Shire Facial Plastic Surgery in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and personally performs all procedures and treatments at the practice. He double-majored in Fine Arts and Microbiology at Ohio State University before earning his MD from the Medical College of Ohio, and he combines a lifelong passion for the arts with his surgical career. He ran a private facial cosmetic surgery practice in Boca Raton, Florida for eight years while on the teaching faculty at the University of Miami Hospitals, then served as Director of Facial Plastic Surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center in New York before relocating to Chattanooga. He is listed in Best Doctors in America and has published numerous papers and book chapters on facial plastic surgery, including work on deep chemical peels.
