About Emmelyn Rivas
Emmelyn Rivas, FNP-C was born and raised in the Philippines, where she earned her Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing before migrating to the United States and practicing as a registered nurse in various hospitals and specialties. Half of her nursing career was spent at University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, working in the only verified burn unit in Nevada and the only level one trauma center, where she served as relief charge nurse and mentored student nurses, military nurses and new critical care nurses. She is an instructor for Advanced Burn Life Support. She earned her Master's Degree in Nursing with a specialty in Family Nurse Practice at Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles in 2020. As a nurse practitioner she focuses on patients with various wounds and burn injuries.
