About Emile Picarella
Dr. Emile A. Picarella, Jr. is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon practicing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A New Orleans native, he completed undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University and earned his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans School of Medicine in 2005. He completed his general surgery internship and residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, where he served as Chief Administrative Resident, followed by a fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery there in 2013. His training covered traumatic and head and neck cancer reconstruction, implant-based and autologous breast reconstruction, and cosmetic facial and body contouring surgery. His practice includes breast surgery, body contouring, post-bariatric reconstruction after massive weight loss, and hand surgery, and he has published in the Journal of Surgical Education, Annals of Plastic Surgery, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
