About Elena Schertz
Elena Schertz earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Michigan State University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Simmons University in Boston. She worked as a nurse in pediatric oncology, cardiac and surgical units at UNC hospitals for 15 years before moving into integrative medicine, which she has practiced since 2010. She is a certified mindfulness practitioner and is pursuing functional medicine certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine. She joined Extivita in March 2019 and conducts new-patient consultations and hyperbaric oxygen therapy prescribing.
