About Eda Akyar
Dr. Eda Akyar is a physician at SHIFT whose special interests are sports medicine and women's health. She completed a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, working with the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bulls, the Joffrey Ballet and DePaul University Athletics. She completed her family medicine residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia University. She earned her medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine with Research and Global Health Honors, a BS in Biological Sciences from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Master of Public Health in the Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases from Yale University. She previously served as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Indonesia.
