About Cristina Persa
Cristina Persa is a licensed naturopathic physician in Arizona and Washington and a fellow in anti-aging, metabolic and functional medicine, and she opened Persa Functional Medicine in Scottsdale in November 2019. Born and raised in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, she earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Iuliu Hatieganu and completed four years of residency in clinical pathology before a scholarship brought her to the University of Nebraska, where her master's research examined the biochemical mechanisms of age-related cataract formation. She continued glaucoma research at the University of Arizona and graduated from Bastyr University as a naturopathic doctor in 2013. She then spent six years at Tahoma Clinic in Washington, established by bio-identical hormone replacement pioneer Dr. Jonathan V. Wright, before opening her own practice. Her appointments are comprehensive and data-driven, connecting hormones, metabolism, thyroid health, immune balance and lifestyle factors, and she is certified in IV therapy and has completed all four peptide therapy modules offered by A4M and the Metabolic Medical Institute.
