About Courtney King
Dr. Courtney King founded Golden Road Integrative and Functional Medicine after leaving conventional medicine in 2017. The site states she is board certified in Family Medicine and Integrative Medicine, an IFM Functional Medicine Practitioner, a medical acupuncturist and trained in Ayurvedic medicine. She graduated from Brown University with a BA in Psychology and attended the Medical College of Georgia; during medical school she studied complementary and alternative medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil in Tucson and traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture in Beijing. After medical school she trained in medical acupuncture through the Helms Institute and completed a year-long Ayurvedic Practitioner course at the Dhyana Center, then a family medicine residency in Fort Collins, Colorado. She practiced as a family doctor in a large medical group in Sonoma County, California for seven years before founding Golden Road; her own Hashimoto's thyroiditis diagnosis and recovery through functional medicine drove that shift. She now combines functional medicine testing with nutritional, botanical, pharmaceutical and lifestyle support and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.
