About Dr. Castel Santana
Dr. Castel Santana, known to patients as Dr. Cas, is a board-certified family medicine physician and certified functional medicine practitioner at MedSomma in Melissa, Texas. Born and raised largely in Anchorage, Alaska, he graduated from Minnesota State Moorhead with a dual major in biology and chemistry before attending medical school in St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles. He was accepted to the University of Maryland, where he developed his 5 Pillars of Health and Wellness framework covering medical, physical, mental, spiritual and aesthetic wellness. After residency he began delivering a model of care blending integrative and functional medicine, and completed the requirements to become a certified functional medicine practitioner.
