About Burgess Buchanan

Burgess Buchanan is the founder of Origo Functional Medicine and a board-certified acute care nurse practitioner. She spent three years in a trauma ICU as a registered nurse, later practicing as a nurse practitioner with a focus in neurocritical care and neurosurgery. Seeing repeated preventable hospitalizations led her to obtain additional certification in functional medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine. She has also volunteered with a church medical mission in Malawi, treating patients in pop-up clinics. Her practice focuses on women's health and is delivered by telemedicine.
