UpCurrent Functional Medicine is a telemedicine functional medicine practice based in Wilmington, North Carolina. It was launched in 2022 by Zoie Phillips, MSPA, PA-C, who is dual-certified in functional medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine and the School of Applied Functional Medicine. The practice treats chronic and complex conditions including digestive imbalance, thyroid and hormonal concerns, autoimmune disease, Lyme disease, mold exposure and cardiometabolic dysfunction, using a whole-person, systems-biology approach aimed at root causes. Visits are conducted by encrypted video, and a functional nutritionist and board-certified health coach works alongside the clinical care. The practice does not accept insurance and provides superbills for patients to submit for reimbursement.
