About Southern Roots Dentistry
Dr. James Lowder was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. He graduated from C.E. Byrd High School. Dr. Lowder earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. Lowder completed dental school at LSU School of Dentistry and obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree. Dr. Lowder is Faculty Gratis Clinical Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at LSUHS Shreveport where he is the assistant program director of the General Practice Residency Program. There, Dr. Lowder specializes in treating individuals with mental or physical disabilities. Dr. Lowder is trained in advanced botulinum toxin treatment, and dermal filler. He is a member of the Special Care Dentistry Association, the American Dental Association, and past president President of the Northwest Louisiana Dental Association. Dr. Lowder finds joy in spending time with his wife, Katie, and his three sons, Huck, Camp, and Crew. Dr. Carlee Gilley, her husband
