Dr. Edward J. Wladis is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Albany Medical College, where he leads the Lions Eye Institute. A graduate of Columbia University (BA, Neuroscience, cum laude, 1997) and the State University of New York Upstate Medical University (MD, 2001), Dr. Wladis completed his ophthalmology residency at New Jersey Medical School and pursued dual fellowship training — in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Neuro-Ophthalmology at the University of Vermont, followed by Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the prestigious Scheie Eye Institute, University of Pennsylvania. Since joining Albany Medical College as faculty in 2008, Dr. Wladis has risen to lead the Department of Ophthalmology as Professor and Chairman.
