Dr. Maria O’Brien has been a medical doctor for over 30 years and is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She has always had a personal interest in aesthetics, which materialized at the turn of the millennium into a laser center for skin and beauty. Dr. O’Brien takes pride in listening carefully to people’s concerns and then using her knowledge and expertise in finding the best solution tailored to patients’ desires, time, and budget. Since 2008, Dr. O’Brien has added to her practice “The Center for Medical Weight Loss” where she has been passionately applying her experience in primary care to fighting the growing problem of obesity and the intertwining medical problems of diabetes, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. Dr. O’Brien strongly believes in prevention and healthy lifestyle, so the weight loss clinic is in reality a wellness center where weight loss is just one modality of accomplishing or maintaining health.
