Innovative Healthcare Family Practice is a nurse-practitioner-owned functional and family medicine practice in Sherman, Texas, established by Karen S. Steed, RN, FNP, CFMP in 2015. Steed brings more than two decades of general practice experience and earned her certification in functional medicine from Functional Medicine University in 2018. The Sherman office provides specialized family practice alongside functional medicine, while a second office in McKinney, branded Innovative Wellness Center, offers functional medicine only; telehealth functional medicine is also available. Clinical focus areas include comprehensive thyroid management, noninvasive hormone optimization for women and men, advanced cardiometabolic testing using Cleveland HeartLab and Genova Diagnostics panels, gastrointestinal health and food sensitivities, body composition analysis and medically supervised weight management. Functional medicine is offered fee-for-service, with a 90-minute initial consultation priced at $595.
