About Dr. Marielena Diakogiannis

Whitestone Periodontics and Dental Implants was built in 2002 by Dr. Marielena Diakogiannis and designed with the intention of providing quality health care to patients in an office that is both tranquil and welcoming. Dr. Marielena Diakogiannis started her dental education at Fairleigh Dickenson University from 1987-1989 at which point the dental program was terminated. She continued her education at New York University from 1989-1991. Upon graduation, she completed her residency at the Veterans Administration Medical Center of Manhattan and completed a two year program to become a periodontist. Dr. Diakogiannis also studied with Dr. Dennis Tarnow, the renowned former director of the NYU Dental Implant program, from 1995-1997 and completed an Implant Dentistry Fellowship at NYU. After extensive periodontal and implant training, Dr. Diakogiannis continued as a clinical instructor at NYU from 1995-1997 in the periodontal department and then from 1997-1999 in the implant dentistry depart
