About Dr. Jeffrey L. Schmidt

Dr. Schmidt, a Texas native, graduated with a degree in psychology at Southern Methodist University before pursuing medical studies at The University of Texas School of Medicine in San Antonio. After earning his medical doctorate, Dr. Schmidt was selected for a highly competitive Head and Neck Surgery residency in Omaha, NE. In his final year, he became Chief Resident of the program and was responsible for teaching residents and medical students from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Creighton University School of Medicine. Dr. Schmidt engaged in several scientific studies during his residency and was notably awarded for his research assessing the effects of melatonin in oxygen-starved tissues. During that same year, Dr. Schmidt also traveled with several other surgeons on a medical mission trip to Vietnam . Following residency, Dr. Schmidt was selected from many of his surgical colleagues for a highly competitive training program in facial plastic and reconstructive surger
