Early on in surgical training, Dr. Kumar realized that his interest wasn’t just in anatomy—it was in identity, and how delicate changes could transform the way someone feels about themselves. He was drawn to the details, the subtle ones that foster stability and define individuality. Facial Plastic Surgery sits at the intersection of form, function, and feeling. The work is highly technical, but also deeply human. Dr. Kumar chose this field because it allows him to use his hands and eyes as tools for healing, optimization, and restoration. He is able to practice precision and restraint. And it offers the privilege of connecting with people in moments of vulnerability, transformation, and self-rediscovery. Outside of surgery, Dr. Kumar found inspiration in visual arts, especially photography, dance, and sculpture.
