A board certified eye surgeon with over 30 years of experience, Dr. Garbutt is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard College. He received his MD from the University of California, San Francisco Medical School. Following ophthalmology residency at UCLA and becoming board certified in eye surgery, Dr. Garbutt continued his surgical training at UCLA with a fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, holding a faculty position. As a board certified eye surgeon as well as a UCLA Fellowship trained orbito-facial plastic surgeon, I have the exact training needed to do this more complex surgery, which is really an orbit based surgery as opposed to just an eyelid surgery.
