About Thea Lukens
Dr. Thea Lukens grew up in Olympia, Washington, where an early emphasis on nutrition, lifestyle and the body's capacity to heal shaped her interest in medicine. While volunteering as an EMT she developed an appreciation for emergency medicine but found her focus in prevention and long-term health. She earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University after undergraduate studies in pre-med and food science at The Evergreen State College. She has a special interest in cardiometabolic health, hormone health and gastrointestinal medicine, focusing on high cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes, liver disease, digestive disorders and hormonal imbalances. She develops treatment plans integrating conventional medicine with naturopathic therapies, including pharmaceutical medications when appropriate, clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, physical medicine and lifestyle counselling.
