About T. Hunter Newsom
Dr. T. Hunter Newsom is the founder and medical director of Newsom Eye and a nationally recognized innovator and educator in eye surgery with more than two decades of experience. He invented the Newsom Bladeless Laser Cataract Surgery Technique and was the first in the U.S. to implant FDA-approved bilateral Aphakic Artisan lenses. He has led or contributed to FDA studies for the RxSight Light Adjustable Lens, Visian and Verisyse phakic IOLs, and the AcrySof IQ extended depth-of-focus IOL. He was one of the youngest surgeons in the country to develop three FDA-approved ambulatory surgical centers, and he is a Lifetime Visiting Professor at the University of Iowa.
