About Shakur Hamidi-Toosi
Dr. Shakur Hamidi-Toosi received his B.A. and M.D. degrees in 1973 from Shiraz University in Iran and continued medical training in ophthalmology there until 1977. He completed a clinical fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Eye Muscle Disorders at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital, then a clinical fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at the Wilmer Ophthalmologic Institute of Johns Hopkins University. He served as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Virginia from 1980 to 1985 before joining Medical & Surgical Eye Specialists in the Tidewater area. He is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Eastern Virginia Medical School and has served as Chief of Ophthalmology at the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters.
