About Rick Silverman

Dr. Rick Silverman received his A.B. in German from Dartmouth College in 1981 and his M.D. from Pennsylvania State University in 1985. He completed General Surgery training at the Hershey Medical Center and at Maine Medical Center in Portland, finishing in 1990, then trained in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, completing in 1992. He completed a traveling fellowship in Microvascular Surgery at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taipei and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and obtained certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in November 1995. His aesthetic surgery focus includes fitness-oriented individuals and bodybuilders, and he has written several articles on the treatment of gynecomastia in bodybuilders. He is co-founder and president of Hands Across the World, a charitable organization sending surgeons to Ecuador.
