Octavian M. Belcea, MD is a family physician in Raleigh, North Carolina who earned a master's degree in computer science from Drexel University and his medical degree from Drexel University School of Medicine in 2000, then completed a family medicine residency at UNC-Chapel Hill. He holds certifications in ketamine-assisted therapy and psilocybin-assisted therapy and administers ketamine infusions for anxiety, depression, and PTSD. He began taking metformin himself in 2005 and started prescribing it to patients in 2015, and also prescribes the ProLon fasting-mimicking diet for metabolic health and longevity.
