About Norman J. Blum

Norman J. Blum, MD, FACP joined the medical staff of the Pritikin Longevity Center in 1994 after 30 years in private practice. He earned his MD at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn and completed internal medicine residencies at D.C. General Hospital and the Veterans Affairs hospital in Coral Gables, Florida, followed by gastroenterology residencies at the same VA hospital and the University of Miami. He served at the U.S. Army hospital in Nuremberg, Germany, is senior emeritus attending at Miami Heart Institute and is a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine. At Pritikin he counsels guests on nutrition, exercise and stress management.
