About Miguel Canales

Miguel Canales, MD is the founder of Silicon Valley Aesthetic Dermatology in Foster City, California, and co-founder of Silicon Valley Hair Institute. He holds a bachelor of science in chemical engineering from Stanford University and a medical degree from Harvard Medical School, and completed a surgical internship and residency at Stanford University Hospital between 1997 and 1999. He holds twelve patents on robotic hair transplantation and was formerly Medical Director of Restoration Robotics, maker of the ARTAS robotic system. He is a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
