About Melanie McCarty

Dr. Melanie McCarty is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon at Eye Associates of Tucson, with a special interest in surgical rejuvenation of the face and eyelids. She earned her BS summa cum laude (Phi Beta Kappa) from Birmingham-Southern College and her MD from the University of Alabama School of Medicine (Alpha Omega Alpha), completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis as chief resident, and completed her oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania's Scheie Eye Institute and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. A member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, she has practiced in Tucson since 2005 and has published peer-reviewed research in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery.
