About Marta Banuelos
Marta Banuelos is the founder and sole practitioner of Smarta Functional Medicine, a virtual practice focused exclusively on women with Hashimoto's thyroiditis and autoimmune thyroid conditions. She holds a BS in Exercise and Health Sciences from UMass and an MS in Functional Medicine and Human Nutrition from the University of Western States, completed Advanced Functional Medicine Practitioner Training through the Institute for Functional Medicine, and is a Board Certified Nutrition Specialist and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist. Her practice uses a "Genetics First" approach, beginning with DNA testing before standard thyroid workups.
