About Melanie L. Spencer
Melanie L. Spencer is a physician assistant and the clinic director of PrimeLife in Ames, Iowa. She studied Exercise and Sport Science at Iowa State University and earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Des Moines University. She practiced full-time in emergency and family medicine before pursuing advanced training in functional medicine and hormone replacement, and completed an Integrative Medicine Fellowship with Dr. Andrew Weil at the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine. At PrimeLife she treats hormonal imbalance, adrenal dysfunction, chronic fatigue, autoimmune disease and digestive problems, examining diet, lifestyle and gut health before building a personalized protocol.
