About Jennifer Engels
Dr. Jennifer Engels is the founder and physician of WeCare Frisco Functional Medicine, which she opened in June 2020. She earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, completed an internal medicine internship at Dallas Presbyterian Hospital, a radiology residency at UT Southwestern in Dallas, and a one-year fellowship in women's imaging at UT Southwestern, then practiced diagnostic radiology at the Cooper Clinic. After three years of study she earned full certification in functional medicine from the Institute for Functional Medicine in November 2021, and also holds a degree in nutrition and health coaching from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. She has co-authored a book, Ultimate Health, and has advanced training in hormone replacement therapy.
