About Jason Tokunaga
Dr. Jason Tokunaga was raised in Kailua on Oahu and graduated from Punahou High School with honors before earning a Bachelor of Science with honors in Bioengineering from the University of California San Diego. He returned home for medical school and his internship at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. His interest in ophthalmology began with his strong family history of glaucoma; he completed residency at the University of Texas Southwestern, training at Parkland Hospital, and stayed an additional year for a glaucoma fellowship. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the Hawaii Ophthalmic Society.
